Umer Khan is Executive Vice President (EVP), Corporate and Investment Banking at UBL and looking after the affairs of Investment Banking Group at the bank. In his current role, he is leading an award-winning investment banking team operating in both Pakistan and the GCC. Umer holds an MBA (Finance) degree from the IBA and has almost 20 years of experience in Project Finance, Equity & Advisory and Debt Capital Market and has been at the forefront of GoP’s and GoPb’s recent privatization drive. At UBL, working alongside domestic and international co-financiers and sponsors, Umer has successfully led project financings of over US$ 8bn in capital costs.

In addition to UBL, Umer has also worked at Standard Chartered where he was responsible for origination and structuring of Project Finance transactions for the Middle East and Pakistan regions. His areas of focus include projects in the energy, power, roads and telecom sectors, amongst others. He has been a part of several forums involved in policy advocacy and advisory on structural reforms for development of infrastructure in Pakistan. Umer is a frequent speaker at Investment Banking courses at his alma mater, the IBA.
