Nestlé Milkpak: Process Digitization

Nestle Milkpak Limited, the largest name in food companies chose Techlogix as its IT consultants to develop its Payroll System. This application calculates earnings, taxes, deductions; and generates audit trails and other payroll reports.

Challenge

The present system in Nestlé could not generate accurate tax calculations, salary increments, bonuses and loans; record changes made in the salary structure of employees and generate various reports. Keeping the current database up to date and accurate, required tedious manual input by the Payroll Department and was also susceptible to errors, also resulting in delayed payment of salaries.

Solution

The System will significantly improve the efficiency of Compensation and Benefits Department by providing the facility for Audit Trail, Income Tax Calculation, Reports Generation, Funds Management, Bonus and Increment Calculation, Attendance and Leave Management and Loan Management. As a result Nestlé employees will be paid accurately and on time.

This project also meets some other important and strategic requirements such as compliance with the present networking conditions at Nestlé, flexibility to allow for future expansion of Nestlé and permits a central control for the system.

Technology

Payroll System for Nestlé Milkpak is developed on ASP (Active Server Pages) platform, with the server side communication managed through XML and COM/COM+ objects. Other technologies used in this solution are HTML and DHTML, VB Script and Java Script. MS SQL Server is used as a Database Server while reporting is done using Crystal Reports.
